Request account and data deletion
Pop Cosmic is built on the idea that you shouldn’t have to hand over your identity to find a good night out. No account. No tracking. No data sold — ever. That’s the promise on the home page and it’s the promise here too.
Right now, Pop Cosmic doesn’t use traditional user accounts at all. Every contribution — every beacon, tag, and signal — is associated with a randomly generated anonymous device id that lives only on your phone. There’s no email, no name, no profile photo, and no login stored on our servers.
When accounts do arrive, they’ll stay deliberately light. Any paid tier will route through your phone’s native subscription system (Google Play, the App Store) rather than through us, so even your billing details stay with the platforms you already trust. Pop Cosmic itself will continue to hold as little about you as possible.
What a deletion request removes
A deletion request clears any data tied to your account or device from our systems. That includes:
- Your anonymous device id and any signals, beacons, or tags associated with it
- Any account profile, display name, or contact info (once accounts exist)
- Any saved preferences or cached usage data on our servers
Anonymous, aggregate signals about places — the kind that can’t be traced back to any individual — may remain in the living map. That’s the part that belongs to the city, not to any one person.
How long it takes
We confirm receipt within a few days and complete the deletion within 30 days. If anything is unusually entangled, we’ll write back and explain rather than going quiet.
